Preserve the wording
A formatting tool organizes fields supplied by the reader. Our focus is the durable citation. Preserve the exact wording, page identity and date so that another reader can reconstruct the question after the original design has changed.
A citation problem
A neatly formatted reference does not verify the destination or its claims. Preserve a descriptive title, full address and access date with the specific assertion. Where the document supplies a different publication date, keep that separately. Formatting makes a citation usable; it does not establish that the destination or every claim has been verified.
Make the record durable
State that boundary next to the generated citation. Keep the question, the source reference and the remaining limitation together so that a later reader can reconstruct the reasoning.
